Wildfish Seafood Restaurant in Scottsdale- It's the Best.

Backing up to the trendy Scottsdale waterfront (canal) and  across from Scottsdale's Fashion Mall is Wildfish Seafood Grille. When it comes to seafood, Wildfish is one of the few and rare fresh seafood restaurants in Scottsdale. Its sleek, classy bar sits in front of the seafood display dome and behind that is the cooking line. All of this is surrounded by the sophisticated dining room.

Only the finest quality of the widest assortment of fish available. Sole, scallops, live lobsters from Cape Cod. Snapper from the Gulf of Mexico (no BP oil spill tarnish here), Yellow fin tuna from the Caribbean. And live, seasonal oysters from California, Alaska, Martha's Vineyard and the Gulf Coast.
We go there several times during our stay in AZ. Also to one of the other fresh fish restaurants here: the Salt Cellar but that is another report.

While Wildfish offers many fine fresh seafood dinners, we usually have several appetizers. During the afternoon and all day on Sunday they have their "happy hour" which has reduced prices on select drinks, wine and appetizers. The drinks are generous and the wine by the glass is served in a mini carafe for amount consistency regardless of glass style.  This visit we had three apps:

<---- This is Wildfish's Ahi tuna tartare. A fine combo of Curry and sesame oils brings out the small cubed tuna flavor. No over marinating here. Little side stars of sliced avocado, Mango and peeled grapefruit quadrants finish off each bite. Served with seasoned flat.bread

Next were spicy shrimp and pork    ---->
pot stickers. These plump beauties are made in house and come bathed in some sort of soy broth- not a bit salty.

Lastly came a real delight: Lobster tacos. Two fried tortillas with lobster claw meat and plenty of it topped with corn pico de gallo sauce. Our server/bartender, Jorge, suggested adding bacon to the tacos so we did. What a difference that combo makes.

I dubbed it the "Scottsdale BLT."

Here is Wildfish's Happy Hour menu. We'll be heading back again as they offer a wide variety of full plate dinners too.

The oyster bar has Bluepoint oysters, halibut ceveche, gulf shrimp or lump crab cocktails, yellow tail sashimi and a giant seafood tower with all that and a chilled lobster.

Appetizer menu has the same as the happy hour on plus calamari, batter fried oysters, steak and lobster tartare. There is a wild mushroom or Fuji apple salad, lobster and shrimp bisque, crab and corn chowder and much more.

Dinner menu offers Florida Grouper, Scottish Salmon (boo- not Alaska salmon), sole, swordfish, Ahi tuna, Georges Bank scallops, Chilean sea bass and of course, lobster.

There are hand cut premium steaks but who cares at a fresh seafood restaurant.
